We saw the film in 3D.  It wasn't one that I would insist that you see in 3D.  I'm sure it's just as good without the 3D.  I know there are some 3D movies that I would insist on seeing in 3D.

My girls loved this movie and want me to go out to purchase it right away.  Too bad it will be many months before we can own it.  The film does that have serious situations that might bring your kids to tears.  I know my girls teared up.

I would give the film 3 out of 5 stars.  It was good, but no way compares with the first one.  I was a tad bit disappointed.  I still would recommend taking your kids to see it.  My husband and kids loved it.

The movie is in theaters on 6/13/14.  How to Train Your Dragon 2 has an all star cast including Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, and Cate Blanchett, just to name a few.

The DNR’s Summer Kickoff (June 7-8) is a great opportunity for folks to enjoy time in Michigan's great outdoors with family and friends.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources today announced the 2014 Summer Kickoff, with a variety of recreation activities across the state. During Summer Kickoff, fees will be waived for some of the state’s most popular outdoor activities, making it a great time to grab a fishing pole, ride an ORV or enjoy a day in the outdoors at a state park. The DNR Summer Kickoff includes:

• June 7-8 is Free Fishing Weekend, when all fishing license fees are waived for two days. Residents and out-of-state visitors may enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lakes waters for all species of fish. All fishing regulations still apply. Learn more atwww.michigan.gov/freefishing. 
  
• June 7-8 is Free ORV Weekend, when ORV license and permit fees are waived for off-road vehicles. Anyone (resident or nonresident) may ride an ORV for free, but all ORV laws still apply. Find a trail at www.michigan.gov/orvtrails.
  
• June 8 is free entry to all 102 Michigan state parks; no Recreation Passport required. Pack a picnic, bring some sand toys and make a day of it. This is the only day of the year when there is no vehicle entry fee for the state parks. Camping fees still apply for overnight visitors. • National Trails Day - Saturday, June 7. Take a Walk in the Park with Blue Cross Blue Shield and the DNR in honor of National Trails Day. Earlier this week Stephanie and I were able to get a sneak peek of Disney's Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie.  You would have thought we were attending a red carpet event.  We were so excited to have tickets in the press seating area.  Especially, when you see local celebrities at the screening.

I really didn't know what to expect when I went to see this movie.  I was truly blown away.  We saw the movie in 3-D. The scenery and the landscaping was breathtaking.

I am a face painter, and of course the first thing I noticed was Jolie's makeup.  Her face, prosthetic cheek bones, and makeup are truly flawless.  I had trouble concentrating on anything else because it was so beautiful and perfectly done.

"Maleficent" explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty" and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever."

I loved the story line!  Maleficent is a fairy that has her heart broken by a human.  She seeks revenge on her old love and places a curse on his daughter, Aurora.  On Aurora's 16th birthday she is to fall asleep to only be awoken by the kiss of true love.  There are lots of plot twists and turns.  The story is magical and shows the beauty of love.
What would I rate this movie?  I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.  I am super picky when it comes to movies.  I rarely give 5 stars.  I highly recommend taking your kids to see it. It is rated PG. I would not recommend this movie for under 5 years old, because the action might be scary to younger children.
